The Supreme Court declared on Tuesday that there won't be a retest for the 2024 NEET-UG exam, citing a lack of evidence to support a "systemic breach" or that the "sanctity" of the test had been compromised in light of two isolated question paper leaks. The bench, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, said an order, therefore, to order a re-test for 23.33 lakh aspiring medical professionals, many of whom would travel hundreds of kilometers from hometowns to exam centers - would have "big consequences".
