India- US Relations: Will Trump Stop Pakistan Sponsered Terrorism?

Image
The return of Donald Trump is a desired result for India. As everyone knows, Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have a close relationship. "I am not going to start wars; I am going to stop them," declared Donald Trump in his victory speech. Since we want total peace in our neighbourhood, this has given Indians hope. India is extremely concerned about the recent events in Bangladesh. We are worried about the radicalism and fundamentalism in Bangladesh. It is well known that the "deep State" and the "US" were involved in overthrowing PM Sheikh Hasina's government. Can we infer from Donald Trump's remarks that his administration would take significant and stringent measures to combat Pakistan-sponsored terrorism? During his first tenure, although it was not consistent, Donald Trump's presidency represented a shift in US policy toward Pakistan. Due to the Trump administration's requirement for collaboration with Pakistan on the A...

Hindus Hold Massive Protest in Canada

Image
More than a thousand members of the Canadian Hindu community gathered in Brampton on Tuesday to express worries about the rising violence against Hindus in the country following a Khalistani attack on a Hindu temple. Participants from around Ontario came to the peaceful demonstration outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir, one of the biggest temples in Canada, to call for responsibility and safety. According to the demonstrators, the purpose of the solidarity event is to pressure Canadian law enforcement and politicians to stop aiding Khalistanis. In addition to demanding safety and accountability, the demonstrators from all around Ontario were waving saffron flags and the Indian tricolor while singing anti-Khalistani extremist slogans and voicing their displeasure with the Justin Trudeau administration. The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) organized these protests, claiming that there were several attacks on Hindu temples across Canada over the Diwali weekend and callin...

Fractured Relations: What’s Next for India and Canada?

Image
The death of a Sikh separatist on Canadian land has escalated tensions between India and Canada, leading to the expulsion of their top diplomats, a new low in their traditionally friendly relationship. Although there have been tense arguments in the past, none have escalated to this degree of direct conflict. Following PM Justin Trudeau's assertion that Canadian police were looking into claims of Indian agents' and the Indian government's direct participation in the June 2023 killing, the tit-for-tat expulsions took place. The greatest Sikh diaspora outside of the Indian state of Punjab is found in Canada, where there are about 770,000 Sikhs. Relations between the two nations are still strained by Sikh separatism, which has its roots in a violent rebellion that took place in India in the 1980s and early 1990s. Delhi has harshly criticized Canada for not doing more to stop the pro-Khalistan agitation inside its borders. Canada claims that India has been keeping an eye on...

India Strongly Remarked on Iran: Look At Your Own Record

Image
Muslim "suffering" in Gaza, Myanmar, and India was brought up by Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran. India denounced on 16 th September  the remarks made by Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, about the country's minorities. “We strongly deplore the comments made regarding minorities in India by the Supreme Leader of Iran. These are misinformed and unacceptable. Countries commenting on minorities are advised to look at their own record before making any observations about others,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.  Khamenei called for international cooperation among community members by bringing up the "struggles" of Muslims in Gaza, India, and Myanmar. The Iranian president has previously spoken out on minorities in India. He had responded to the Narendra Modi administration's intention to repeal Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. “We’re concerned about Muslims’ situation in #Kashmir. We have good relations with India, but we expect t...

Where did our Olympians Go?

Image
Manu Bhaker India’s double medal sensation at the Paris Olympics 2024 has shown the definition of perseverance, patience and dedication to the world from facing a pistol malfunction at the Tokyo Olympics to the redemption at Paris the one figure apart from her parents is her coach Jaspal Rana. Jaspal Rana a veteran of Indian shooting and pistol coaching has raised an interesting question while giving an interview to the Bridge Sports said that where is Jitu Rai where is Saurabh Chaudhary who have immensely contributed to Shooting.  Somewhere down the line the system currently needs to create an environment where not only the talent nourishes or sustains but also creates an ecosystem where talent and experience co-exist. It is a systematic failure according to the veteran. If shooting which is the second costliest sport after golf has to sustain then the responsible authorities need to take cognizance and act so that shooting can sustain in India. Leave shooting asides this a...

Beyond The Headlines: Why The West Gets India Wrong?

Image
A spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on 9 th August that the global body stands against attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh amid the ongoing violence. “What we've made clear is we want to make sure that the violence that has been occurring in Bangladesh in recent weeks is tamped down. Certainly, we stand against any racially based attacks or racially based incitement to violence,” said Farhan Haq, deputy spokesperson for the Secretary-General. In the past week, numerous videos and pictures have surfaced on the internet documenting the burning of temples, businesses, and homes owned by the Hindu community. This unrest follows Shaikh Hasina’s resignation and flight from the country amid violent protests. Despite this assertion, the media and Western nations have been non-vocal. There is silence from the alleged "saviours of human rights and democracy." Just consider what may have happened in the Western media and in Western nations if ...

Bangladesh Warns India: If India Helps It's Enemy then...

Image
The first task of Bangladesh's interim government, which will be sworn in on Thursday, will be to restore law and order in the country, Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Muhammad Yunus, who will head the new administration, told  NDTV  in an interview on Wednesday. Before his return to Bangladesh on Thursday, Yunus conducted an interview. Sheikh Hasina had resigned as prime minister and fled to India following weeks of violent student protests, and there were reports of ongoing instability and bloodshed in the nation at the time of the interview. The 84-year-old Yunus, who is the sole Nobel laureate from Bangladesh and a vocal opponent of Hasina, warned that if Bangladesh became unstable, India's North-East and West Bengal states as well as Myanmar would be impacted. Dr. Yunus's warning is indeed a serious matter. Even if he is in control of the temporary administration, we can still regard him as Bangladesh's prime minister. He has identified three areas. North-...

Bangladesh: Towards East Pakistan?

Image
I remember a book “India’s Troubled Neighbours and Troubling India”. The title itself depicts today’s reality. Right now, Bangladesh is making all the wrong news headlines. Following her recent overthrow, Sheikh Hasina, the country's longtime leader, departed. Such violent political incidents are not new to the nation. During its brief history, it has witnessed everything from assassinations to army dictatorship and abundant political excess. The Awami League took over the National Assembly in 1970 after winning 167 of the 169 East Pakistani seats in the election. Despite this, Yahya Khan called off the meeting and gave the order for the army to strike the center of the autonomy movement while in negotiations with Mujibur Rahman. The 1971 East Pakistani Liberation War broke out amid targeted killings. India officially entered the war in 1971, portraying itself as a supporter of Bangladesh's right to self-determination. Pakistan saw India's military training of the inde...

Hiroshima Day: A Reminder for the World

Image
Hiroshima Day, observed annually on August 6, commemorates the horrific event that occurred in 1945 when an atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima, Japan, causing extensive damage and a high death toll. This year is the 79th year that the globe commemorates the day that changed the course of history. On this day, we should not forget the devastating consequences of nuclear weapons and the pressing need to remove these weapons of mass devastation from the planet. Hiroshima Day is also observed to remember the vast number of people who died in the Hiroshima bombing and to reflect on the humanitarian consequences of nuclear war. The city was totally destroyed in the terrible event of 1945, and the nation was forced to grapple with its terrible destiny. On this day, it is crucial to remind all global politicians, diplomats, and envoys that all wars are awful, that nuclear conflicts pose a greater threat to human life, and that the only viable course for the twenty-first century is diplomacy....

UK Violence & India: Everything Comes Full Circle!

Image
On 31st July night in London, hundreds of demonstrators yelled "We want our country back" as they threw beer cans and bottles and let off flares near a statue of Winston Churchill, the leader of the war. According to London's Metropolitan Police, over 100 persons were taken into custody for crimes such as violent conduct and assaulting emergency personnel. The violence and protest in the UK serve as a reminder of our past. Now, they are going to pay for what they did to us. This is how "karma comes full circle." We were split apart by them based on religion and caste. During their rule, our nation experienced extreme rioting and violence. The UK is currently dealing with the same violence and hatred. The phrases "We want our country" and "Save our Children" are being shouted by the British people. What actions did our people take during the British rule? Everywhere one might see the slogans "Simon go back," "Vande Mataram,...

S jaishankar goes "The India Way": A Message to China

Image
A clear message was given by EAM S Jaishankar to China. S Jaishankar also stated that the QUAD countries will work together to uphold the free and open rules-based international order and respect the principle of freedom, human rights, sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations. To this China reacted in an agitating manner and blamed India for creating tension, inciting confrontation in the Indo Pacific region. Now China’s role in Asia Pacific is well known to the world. China’s policy is to extend its territorial border and to become a powerful country. China has also blamed the US along with India. But our EAM has once again given back strongly to China. This message is also a sign of India’s foreign policy and strategy. As the world struggles to uphold a rules-based order, only the cooperation of the Quad nations can guarantee that the Indo-Pacific region remains free, open, stable, and secure, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated on Monday amid mounting conc...

Maldives- China Bonhominess Implications

Image
Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu expressed gratitude to China and India for supporting the country's weak economy and emphasized the significance of both nations in resolving the island nation's impending debt issue and fostering its future growth. President Muizzu stated at an official event on July 26 to commemorate the 59th anniversary of the nation's independence that China and India offer the most assistance in helping the nation pay off its debt. After taking office last year, Mr. Muizzu ran an anti-India campaign platform that called for the expulsion of about 80 Indian military personnel who were using helicopters and donated Dornier aircraft. China, on the other hand, has increased its diplomatic ties with the Maldives since Mr. Muzzu, who is generally recognized as a pro-Beijing politician, came to office.   He travelled to China early this year, and while there, the two nations strengthened their ties to become a comprehensive strategic cooperative partn...

India Should Have Close Eye: Bangladesh Rising Tensions

Image
Bangladesh was eager to see the reservation system loosened. This week's violent student protests against government job quotas in Bangladesh have resulted in at least 105 deaths. The Dhaka Medical College Hospital reports that on Friday, the capital city had at least 52 fatalities. Following the Bangladesh High Court's decision to reinstate a 30% government employment quota for Bangladesh's liberation fighters, as well as their offspring and grandkids, a furious protest broke out. Although this quota was not brand-new, young people and students began to oppose its implementation. When they reached the highways, the situation turned violent. The Supreme Court of Bangladesh heard a challenge to the high court's ruling. The Supreme Court reduced the reservation quota and ruled that 93% of government positions should be awarded on the basis of merit. Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister of Bangladesh, issued an emergency proclamation and ordered the military to put an end ...
