India Strongly Remarked on Iran: Look At Your Own Record

Muslim "suffering" in Gaza, Myanmar, and India was brought up by Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran.

India denounced on 16th September  the remarks made by Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, about the country's minorities.

“We strongly deplore the comments made regarding minorities in India by the Supreme Leader of Iran. These are misinformed and unacceptable. Countries commenting on minorities are advised to look at their own record before making any observations about others,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Khamenei called for international cooperation among community members by bringing up the "struggles" of Muslims in Gaza, India, and Myanmar.

The Iranian president has previously spoken out on minorities in India. He had responded to the Narendra Modi administration's intention to repeal Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.

“We’re concerned about Muslims’ situation in #Kashmir. We have good relations with India, but we expect the Indian government to adopt a just policy towards the noble people of Kashmir and prevent the oppression & bullying of Muslims in this region,” he had said.

India has vehemently disagreed with this assertion and suggested that people start by inspecting their own homes. The world is aware of Iran and its Sharia-based government. Women are oppressed, and in recent times, the nation has seen widespread protests against the "Hijab," which have brought up important issues on a global scale. We are fully aware of Iran's treatment of women and other minorities.

In my opinion, women and other minorities in India are exercising their constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights. When compared to other nations, India is a safer environment for minorities. Every minority has prospered since independence in their own unique manner and has been able to live here with dignity.

Some Western nations and Iran have now made it a routine to make remarks about India, especially when it comes to minorities. This is absurd in a way, since Iran, a Muslim nation, seeks to meddle in another nation's domestic affairs. This can cause some very serious issues and is unacceptable. The bilateral relations between the two nations may also be impacted.

Recently, India and Iran signed a major long-term agreement to manage the Shahid-Beheshti Port Terminal, further strengthening their partnership.

This agreement, signed by ministers from both nations, emphasizes how strategically significant the Chabahar port agreement is. The pact is expected to facilitate commercial routes between India, Iran, and Afghanistan by improving regional connectivity. This will provide an alternative to the conventional routes that traverse Pakistan.

Just to tell the people who hate India that India has changed a lot and now can give a befitting reply. We have given up the defensive policy and our External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is always ready to return these people. So don’t mess up with us.

 Jai Hind!
