"Bharat Matters" : US calls on India to end war in Ukraine

The US now had urged India to use the long-lasting relationship with Russia to stop the Ukraien war. The US State Department spokesperson Mathew Millar said “"India has a longstanding relationship with Russia. I think that’s well-known. And we have – speaking for the United States – encouraged India to utilize that relationship with Russia, that longstanding relationship and the unique position that they have, to urge President Putin to end his illegal war and to find a just peace, a lasting peace to this conflict; to tell Vladimir Putin to respect the UN Charter, to respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty – sovereignty,"

Prior to this declaration, the Western nations, especially the United States, were not pleased with the Prime Minister's travel to Russia. When Prime Minister Modi visited Russia, they voiced their concerns.

The United States of America has declared that India could end the war if it spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin directly.

Why Does Bharat Matter, as evidenced by these US statements? In the geopolitics of today. The world is beginning to recognize India's potential and ability. India's foreign policy protects the interests of the country and is highly skilled at responding to challenges. India is aware of the need to maintain a balance in relationships today.

The United States' acknowledgment of India's increasing influence in the multipolar globe can be seen in Matthew Millar's recent comments.

Our Minister of External Affairs Dr. S Jaishankar has written “ India occupies global mind- space and its growing vigor would only expand that appreciation”. He had given the example of Lord Hanuman and S Jaishankar writes further that “ The legend of Hanuman could be the story of India in the last decade. The more we do, the more we believe we can do. It is this self-discovery that has made India so different in recent years and set it on a course that has major implications for the global order”.

Mean while Us has expressed its wish to continue its strategic partnership with India.

"India and Russia have had a relationship for a very long time. From a US perspective, India is a strategic partner with whom we continue to engage in full and frank dialogue to include their relationship with Russia," said Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder.

We are also aware of how unpredictable the US may be. They are making comments, but we shouldn't trust them. The US appears to be backing India at one point but then appears to be on the other side.
Everyone should be aware that, given the current political climate, India cannot be ignored. We say "Bharat Matters" with pride because of this.

 Jai Hind
