Russia's President Vladimir Putin has welcomed India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Moscow, addressing him as a "dear friend" on his first visit to the country since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.


Putin embraced Modi on Monday at his home in Novo-Ogaryovo, close outside Moscow, and showed him around before official talks in the Kremlin on Tuesday. 

According to Russia's TASS news agency report, Putin told Modi that he was "delighted" to see him.


"Our official talks are tomorrow, while today in this comfortable, cozy setting we can probably discuss the same issues, but unofficially," Putin has been quoted as adding.


The Russian president served Modi tea, berries, and chocolates before taking him on a tour of the grounds in a motorized cart.

 Bangladesh was eager to see the reservation system loosened. This week's violent student protests against government job quotas in Bangladesh have resulted in at least 105 deaths. The Dhaka Medical College Hospital reports that on Friday, the capital city had at least 52 fatalities. Following the Bangladesh High Court's decision to reinstate a 30% government employment quota for Bangladesh's liberation fighters, as well as their offspring and grandkids, a furious protest broke out.
