The US Factor in Bangladesh:A Lesson For India
The former prime Minister of Bangladesh has stated that there was a role of foreign interference in the recent violence and she had mentioned the role of the US in her unceremonious ouster.
Last week, fearing for safety amid widespread violence,
Sheikh Hasina fled Dhaka in a military aircraft. She is currently in a secure
location in India.
Now it is quite clear and things are getting clear of the role of the US in Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina also claimed that she could have remained in power “if I had surrendered the sovereignty of Saint Martin Island and allowed America to hold sway over the Bay of Bengal”, according to the report.
The picture of Dr Yunus says a lot.
Even if Sheikh Hasina's participation is the subject of many allegations, one can nevertheless consider the advancements she brought about in Bangladesh after becoming office. Bangladesh's GDP grew steadily while she was in office. In addition, she was successful in suppressing terrorism and managing fanatics.
A few of them were incarcerated, and we had heard in the news that the prisoners had been released during the turmoil. She attempted to impose restraints on the radicals. Begum Khalida Ziya, her principal opponent, was set free as soon as Sheikh Hasina departed for India.
This points to a subtle shift in society where people have embraced technology and become more inventive while taking chances and overcoming obstacles. It was a time for foreign investors, especially Indian businesspeople, to make non-traditional investments in Bangladesh, such as artificial intelligence, light engineering, electronics, education, and the automobile sector.
And that was the US's issue. Along with the US, a few other
Western nations were also pressing Sheikh Hasina to leave with their military.
These nations disapproved of the advancements that were occurring. To
maintain dominance over the Indo-Pacific region and especially the Indian
Ocean, they sought to seize control of the nearby islands.
They now find the game to be simple because Sheikh Hasina is
not following the rules. These countries are now quite close to India, making
it simple to meddle in domestic affairs there. The reason I'm calling it
"easy" is that some domestic anti-Indian elements are assisting them.
The US cannot absorb the fact that India's GDP is expanding at the highest
rate. How is India's economy so fast-growing?
Since the NDA government took office, these nations have
made a concerted effort to disrupt our economy. They did not succeed, but they
did in Bangladesh. Indians need to become more aware and cautious because it is
already clear what happens when Western nations meddle. When one of our
opposition leaders traveled to the UK, he made this demand: "Western
Interference" to save our democracy.
Our past should teach us that we were made into slaves anytime a foreign nation meddled. Read our history one more. From the British invasion to the Mughal invasion, we were robbed and forced into slavery. Our textbooks contain the passage "The Merchants Became the Rulers." Thus, remember this.
