Guru Purnima Special: Vishwaguru Bharat Setting a New world Order

Today we are celebrating “Guru Purnima”. First of all my namaskar to all gurus who are the lights on the path of life. In Sanskrit “Guru” means a person or anything who is taking us from darkness towards light. Guru = Gu + Ru. Gu means darkness and Ru means light. In our incredible culture “Guru” is placed above God. When we read our mythology we find even the Gods had “Guru”.

To recap, India can potentially become a "Vishwa Guru." India's goal has always been to become the "Vishwa Guru," not to reign over others. India can share its spirituality and ancient, deep wisdom. Furthermore, India is becoming a more powerful nation that can lead other nations.

“India has emerged as a more influential voice. The record of addressing humanitarian and disaster situations since 2014 has clearly established India’s reputation as a first responder in the Indian Ocean. The ambit of India’s activities has also increased towards the Indo-Pacific in the East and to the Gulf and Africa in the West. What India is saying, doing and shaping is a powerful reason why it matters” is rightly said by our External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar.

Asia Society correctly pointed out, while assessing India's economic progress, that "a retrospective analysis of the last 75 years also throws up some shining figures and facts." By 2020–21, India's overall food production—which was 54.92 million tonnes in 1950—had increased six times to 305.44 million tonnes.

Foreign investment has increased rapidly from INR 2.56 billion in 1948 to over INR 66 billion in 2022, while the nation's foreign exchange reserves have increased from INR 10.29 billion in 1950–1951 to over INR 46 trillion today. Among the other notable accomplishments of the Indian economy since independence are the expansion of the telecom, technology, and financial services industries, as well as the development of the country's road and rail infrastructure."

India is now the subject of increased expectations and enthusiasm from the world community. These are sizable economies that are actively recovering. By the end of the decade, we will probably be ranked third in the world, currently ranked fifth. In the past ten years, India has implemented significant reforms and made difficult decisions.

India has persevered during the COVID-19 pandemic and has even extended its humanitarian efforts. The agenda and results of the world are shaped by the New India. India has a voice of reason all its own in the divisive world.

Now that we are building on India's outstanding achievements in democratic governance and sustained pluralism, we can genuinely aim to share our knowledge in a variety of ways for the benefit of the whole community.

India has a very global perspective and is based on the ancient belief that all people belong to one family. India is able to impart its knowledge because it is founded on values and principles that allow everyone to have the opportunity to live a happy and prosperous life. It's becoming increasingly obvious that India will eventually become the "Vishwa Guru."

I remember the speech given by the late Smt. Sushma Swaraj when she addressed the OIC Conclave in Abu Dhabi. It was a clear message to all "Why Bharat Matters?". The link is given below
