US Diplomats "Tour Arround the Country": Is Something Cooking Behind?

Image
A three-member delegation of US diplomats visited Srinagar on 26th August ahead of the Assembly elections in the Union Territory after a gap of 10 years. "The visit is well within the boundaries of diplomatic outreach mechanism of the US State Department," a senior government official told. According to the official, the visits are not unusual as similar visits with diplomats were common in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. "They get a chance to make on-ground assessments," he said. We would like to know why Mr. Omar Abdulla and the US delegates met before the Jammu and Kashmir elections. What intentions do they have? The US delegate met with the leaders of Janta Dal United and Shri Chandrababu Naidu and visited Jammu & Kashmir. If we pay great attention, there is definitely something cooking behind the visits. Their goals are different. The Bangladeshi government of Sheikh Haseena had already been overthrown by the US. The US and the "Deep Sta...

National Sports Day: Why India is Still Chasing the Medals Tally?

Image
India gets together to commemorate National Sports Day on August 29 every year. This celebration honors Major Dhyan Chand, one of the greatest hockey players of all time, on his birthday. In addition to commemorating his birth anniversary, National Sports Day highlights the value of sports and physical activity in our daily lives. It is a good idea to consider how important sports are for creating national cohesion, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and motivating the next generation to get active as we commemorate National Sports Day in 2024. The man known as "The Wizard of Hockey," Major Dhyan Chand, was born on August 29, 1905. He became one of the best-known Indian players in the world for his outstanding hockey skills. Further, Major Dhyan Chand was an important player in India's three straight Olympic gold medal wins in 1928, 1932, and 1936. He became a legend in the sports world because of his unmatched accuracy in scoring goals and ball control. Major Dhyan Ch...

All Eyes On PM Modi's Visit to Ukraine..

Image
The world is eagerly awaiting Russia and Ukraine's crisis to be resolved. It has been a while, and both sides are still experiencing losses and harm to people. They are struggling economically, so they are looking for someone to take the lead in bringing about peace in the area. India now has a role to play, and it is right to seize this chance to expand its horizons. NATO members are fully aware that Russia will not listen to calls for a ceasefire from China, Turkey, or any other nation. Ukraine, on the other hand, will follow suit. Another reality is that the US and NATO will continue to wage war despite the economic downturn because they wish to sell Ukraine their defense supplies. Ukraine must pay for all of the defense assistance it currently receives, today or tomorrow. This is the double game that the US and NATO are playing. India is a close friend of Russia, as both the Ukraine and friendly allies are aware. Russia is capable of reaching the stage when it and India c...

PM Modi in Ukraine: Diplomacy in Action

Image
On Wednesday, Modi paid tribute to the leaders of Nawanagar and Kolhapur, two former princely territories that provided refuge to over 6,000 Polish women and children during World War 2. Additionally, he paid respects at the Monument to the Battle of Monte Cassino, which honors the 1944 campaign to seize an abbey perched on a mountaintop close to Rome. This combat claimed the lives of hundreds of Indian soldiers fighting for the British Army.   After completing his engagements in Poland on Thursday, Modi will travel by road and rail to reach Ukraine the following day. Modi said his trip to Kyiv will be a “natural continuation of extensive contacts” between the two sides and lay the foundation for “stronger and more vibrant relations”. Modi and Zelenskyy met on the margins of the last two G7 Summits in Japan and Italy, and have spoken several times on the phone since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. PM Modi’s visit is seen as the strong voice of ...

PM Modi's Poland Visit: Time to Recall When India Sheltered Thousands of Polish Refugees

Image
It will be the first time an Indian politician has visited Poland in almost 50 years when Prime Minister Narendra Modi travels there after 45 years. The visit, slated for August 21–22, is especially noteworthy because it falls on the 70th anniversary of Poland and India's diplomatic ties. Dariusz Jonski, a member of the European Parliament, emphasized the significance of this visit for commercial and political ties. He observed Poland's strong interest in discussing healthcare, as the nation desperately needs 25,000 physicians and specialists and potential IT sector partnerships with Indian businesses. Jonski noted that PM Modi's visit would strengthen the bilateral connections between the two nations. The Indian population in Poland has shown a tremendous deal of excitement for the visit, particularly in Lodz. Many applauded PM Modi for his leadership, especially when India was able to successfully evacuate its citizens through Poland during the situation in Ukraine ...

Where did our Olympians Go?

Image
Manu Bhaker India’s double medal sensation at the Paris Olympics 2024 has shown the definition of perseverance, patience and dedication to the world from facing a pistol malfunction at the Tokyo Olympics to the redemption at Paris the one figure apart from her parents is her coach Jaspal Rana. Jaspal Rana a veteran of Indian shooting and pistol coaching has raised an interesting question while giving an interview to the Bridge Sports said that where is Jitu Rai where is Saurabh Chaudhary who have immensely contributed to Shooting.  Somewhere down the line the system currently needs to create an environment where not only the talent nourishes or sustains but also creates an ecosystem where talent and experience co-exist. It is a systematic failure according to the veteran. If shooting which is the second costliest sport after golf has to sustain then the responsible authorities need to take cognizance and act so that shooting can sustain in India. Leave shooting asides this a...

The US Factor in Bangladesh:A Lesson For India

Image
The former prime Minister of Bangladesh has stated that there was a role of foreign interference in the recent violence and she had mentioned the role of the US in her unceremonious ouster. Last week, fearing for safety amid widespread violence, Sheikh Hasina fled Dhaka in a military aircraft. She is currently in a secure location in India. Now it is quite clear and things are getting clear of the role of the US in Bangladesh.  Sheikh Hasina also claimed that she could have remained in power “if I had surrendered the sovereignty of Saint Martin Island and allowed America to hold sway over the Bay of Bengal”, according to the report. The picture of Dr Yunus says a lot. Even if Sheikh Hasina's participation is the subject of many allegations, one can nevertheless consider the advancements she brought about in Bangladesh after becoming office. Bangladesh's GDP grew steadily while she was in office. In addition, she was successful in suppressing terrorism and managing fanatics....

Beyond The Headlines: Why The West Gets India Wrong?

Image
A spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on 9 th August that the global body stands against attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh amid the ongoing violence. “What we've made clear is we want to make sure that the violence that has been occurring in Bangladesh in recent weeks is tamped down. Certainly, we stand against any racially based attacks or racially based incitement to violence,” said Farhan Haq, deputy spokesperson for the Secretary-General. In the past week, numerous videos and pictures have surfaced on the internet documenting the burning of temples, businesses, and homes owned by the Hindu community. This unrest follows Shaikh Hasina’s resignation and flight from the country amid violent protests. Despite this assertion, the media and Western nations have been non-vocal. There is silence from the alleged "saviours of human rights and democracy." Just consider what may have happened in the Western media and in Western nations if ...

Bangladesh Warns India: If India Helps It's Enemy then...

Image
The first task of Bangladesh's interim government, which will be sworn in on Thursday, will be to restore law and order in the country, Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Muhammad Yunus, who will head the new administration, told  NDTV  in an interview on Wednesday. Before his return to Bangladesh on Thursday, Yunus conducted an interview. Sheikh Hasina had resigned as prime minister and fled to India following weeks of violent student protests, and there were reports of ongoing instability and bloodshed in the nation at the time of the interview. The 84-year-old Yunus, who is the sole Nobel laureate from Bangladesh and a vocal opponent of Hasina, warned that if Bangladesh became unstable, India's North-East and West Bengal states as well as Myanmar would be impacted. Dr. Yunus's warning is indeed a serious matter. Even if he is in control of the temporary administration, we can still regard him as Bangladesh's prime minister. He has identified three areas. North-...

Bangladesh: Towards East Pakistan?

Image
I remember a book “India’s Troubled Neighbours and Troubling India”. The title itself depicts today’s reality. Right now, Bangladesh is making all the wrong news headlines. Following her recent overthrow, Sheikh Hasina, the country's longtime leader, departed. Such violent political incidents are not new to the nation. During its brief history, it has witnessed everything from assassinations to army dictatorship and abundant political excess. The Awami League took over the National Assembly in 1970 after winning 167 of the 169 East Pakistani seats in the election. Despite this, Yahya Khan called off the meeting and gave the order for the army to strike the center of the autonomy movement while in negotiations with Mujibur Rahman. The 1971 East Pakistani Liberation War broke out amid targeted killings. India officially entered the war in 1971, portraying itself as a supporter of Bangladesh's right to self-determination. Pakistan saw India's military training of the inde...

Hiroshima Day: A Reminder for the World

Image
Hiroshima Day, observed annually on August 6, commemorates the horrific event that occurred in 1945 when an atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima, Japan, causing extensive damage and a high death toll. This year is the 79th year that the globe commemorates the day that changed the course of history. On this day, we should not forget the devastating consequences of nuclear weapons and the pressing need to remove these weapons of mass devastation from the planet. Hiroshima Day is also observed to remember the vast number of people who died in the Hiroshima bombing and to reflect on the humanitarian consequences of nuclear war. The city was totally destroyed in the terrible event of 1945, and the nation was forced to grapple with its terrible destiny. On this day, it is crucial to remind all global politicians, diplomats, and envoys that all wars are awful, that nuclear conflicts pose a greater threat to human life, and that the only viable course for the twenty-first century is diplomacy....

Bangladesh Crisis: A Challenege for India?

Image
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh resigned from office as a result of the nation's violent protests. On Monday night, a crowd broke into the prime minister's residence, forcing Hasina to leave the nation in a helicopter. As the Bangladesh Army made sure that a temporary administration would soon take control, demonstrators were observed rejoicing over the PM's resignation. Bangladesh is not unfamiliar with military meddling; it has seen it happen before. Hasina's father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was assassinated in 1975 in a military coup that established a protracted military regime, along with the majority of his family members. Rebels storming into a government guest home in Chittagong city, where Ziaur Rahman was staying, killed him in 1981. Hussein Muhammad Ershad, who took over as chief martial law administrator and eventually became president, staged a bloodless military revolution in 1982 that toppled Rahman's successor, Abdus Sattar. A military co...

UK Violence & India: Everything Comes Full Circle!

Image
On 31st July night in London, hundreds of demonstrators yelled "We want our country back" as they threw beer cans and bottles and let off flares near a statue of Winston Churchill, the leader of the war. According to London's Metropolitan Police, over 100 persons were taken into custody for crimes such as violent conduct and assaulting emergency personnel. The violence and protest in the UK serve as a reminder of our past. Now, they are going to pay for what they did to us. This is how "karma comes full circle." We were split apart by them based on religion and caste. During their rule, our nation experienced extreme rioting and violence. The UK is currently dealing with the same violence and hatred. The phrases "We want our country" and "Save our Children" are being shouted by the British people. What actions did our people take during the British rule? Everywhere one might see the slogans "Simon go back," "Vande Mataram,...

From Tilak to Today: His National Education Ideals and New Education Policy

Image
Misunderstandings and controversies have surrounded Tilak's political leadership. He is inherited as a virulent troublemaker, a supporter of social reaction, a defender of tradition, and a communalist who inflamed animosity between Hindus and Muslims. But the reality was different. He wasn't against social improvements in general. Conversely, he thought that social changes would inevitably accompany the advancement and enlightenment of human awareness. He disagreed with the hasty, careless, and sudden changes that the Westernized reformers had pushed. Neither Tilak nor academic political philosophy fit the description of an armchair thinker. India's political emancipation was his primary goal as a pragmatic politician. Though it had its roots in the Indian past, Tilak's political theory did not entirely reject Western ideas. The ancient philosophical and spiritual writings served as an inspiration to me. Thus he imbued his concept of Swaraj with a spiritual meaning...
